Sir Alec Guinness RIP Posted Mon Aug 7 11:28:29 BST 2000 by Jon

He was a briliant comic actor. Let's have some tributes.

Also, his George Smiley gave a lot more depth to the character than Le Carre did originally. I suspect that when people praise Le Carre's spy novels, they actually have Guinness's performance in mind, rather than the stories themselves.

Four words to describe his genius: Kind Hearts and Coronets.

I don't think you can really make a ranking of them: The Ladykillers, Kind Hearts... they were all equally brilliant.

And on the not so comic side "Tunes of Glory". Its quite simply an amazing film.

A fine actor who will be sadly missed for both his comic and serious roles in film.

Rest In Peace.

That's all I can say really, and if it sounds shallow and toadying, then sorry, but I did regard him highly as an actor.

Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.

Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
1807-1882

and write this website.

The point of this spamming is to 'out' them and their opinions and make them face the people they have anonymously attacked.

And yes, I do see the irony in doing it ironically.
