But i don't consider i have an over inflated ego (perhaps unsurprisingly)... i stand up for things i believe in, i stand by my decision to keep doing things i like doing, i.e. pursuing a dream. Look up a bit - there's a Simpsons thread, with added Family Guy section. Why do you like The Simpsons? Read more carefully - most of us on this site (including The Corpses) love good comedy. You say you do as well - so why not "pull in the same direction" as us? Because you wouldn't stand out in the same way as you do? Because you'd be like the rest of us "fools", as you so charmingly put it?

You don't try to join in with what we're talking about (and at the moment, there's an extremely wide range). If I have a problem with Hunter S Thompson, it's that he assumes that he is more interesting than the events he is writing about. If I may say so, you're in grave danger of falling into the same trap.

your thompson points are right on the nose. i don't think, if you look at anything he actually writes about, he does anything interesting. BUT if you look at how he writes, that is the interesting thing...

i understand totally what you mean about 'not rising to the bait', but, to be honest, i have a tendency to push further and try and outwit someone than back down, it's just who i am... i suppose it's a heckler defence mechanism... thing is, a lot of mine are haphazard, or, more often than not so dry that they make the sahara look like center parcs...

i know it's easy for me to say, but i don't see this as wholly a problem about me. i am willing, and do, take good humour *with* good humour, but a lot of people forget that and just slag off things. not just me, things in generally, without looking at what it is at all. there's a set of wannabe corpses. the corpses, for all their sins, know a hell of a lot of stuff and their opinions, whether you agree or not, are based on a lot of evidence.
