Transmitter shut-down Posted Fri Aug 4 10:33:04 BST 2000 by Richard

Sunday morning about 2am on BBC 1. I think they might be showing the test-card for bits. Have fun, anyway.

BOTH BBC channels will be shut-down at the same time, for 5 WHOLE MINUTES! Coincedence, but it's rare. No BBC for 5 minutes! YES!!!! Except for the Fawlty Towers repeats maybe....

In the event of the the main transmission thingy going down, Milton Keanes will automatically send out the Test Card or something like that. They pulled the plug to check it would happen.

Does BBC-2 show TCJ every weekend? If they do, I *am* in heaven. I watched it all last night. If you'd looked, no matter what region you were in you got Ceefax South-East.

Also, anyone catch the Digital Widescreen card on tape. I did. TCJ is animated! Cool! Huh, huh!

No, it is usually Ceefax now. (And isn't it TCW anyway?)

Yup, and it's going on my website soon (though I expect it is already elsewhere)
