Disillusionment Posted Sat Jul 29 22:24:27 BST 2000 by Peter Ohanraohanrahan

I'd always thought that Peter COok's reference to a goblin's teasmaid in the phrase "beaten to death with a goblin's teasmaid" was a bit of inspired surrealism. i.e. the teasmaid belonged to a goblin. But I've just heard Anthea Redfern mention "a Goblin Teasmaid" as one of the prizes in the Generation Game. So it must be a brand name. It's disappointing, that's all. Gradually one's world view is erroded.

I myself was rather disappointed to discover that a goblin is a small evil creature. Up until then I had mistakenly believed it was something to do with oral sex.

My mother had a Goblin Teasmade. It hilarously spat boiling water over a 3-metre radius. Certainly got me up in the morning, though I was generally late, having to go via Casualty with my poor Mum.
