Do you mean that Roland Rat bit from Spitting Image, Al? I'll allow you to elaborate....
"Have you ever done that thing with a video where you have to watch the same bit over and over?"
Yeah, I'm like that with 'Betty Blue'.

<bass drum, hits cymbal>
I was thinking of comedy - but I guess we've all been *there*. I like the bit where she's in that red dress, sitting on the car.
But I was thinking of comedy originally. The Roland rat sketch on Spitting Image consisted of a very manky Roland alike coming on going 'Yeaaahhh ratfans!' then being hit repeatedly with a baseball bat while someone shouted offscreen 'SHUT UP YOU LITTLE BASTARD!' Must have watched that about 20 times in a row.
See also the Paul Merton 'X' sketch mentioned in the great comedy moments thread below.
The 'Play from your fucking heart!' bit from Bill Hicks' Montreal show. (A message to us all)
The 'Well, Krypto, it's time for your fly around the block' bit from Whoops Apocalypse. (Peter Jones doing everything right, as always)
The final 'Moon On A Stick' bit from the final 'Fist Of Fun' ('Oh, I see, you want the *moon* on a stick, do you?')
Any performance of Jasper Carrott doing 'Hangman Slacken Your Noose'. (Wonderfully obvious)
Eric Idle's 'Smoke of Autumn Bonfires' from RWT. ('So get 'em off, baby...')
'Uncle Fuka' from the South Park Movie. (In fact any song from said film. This one has amusing choreography too though)
The 'Fuckin' guy must have been a communist' bit from Zappa's 200 Motels. (Jimmy Carl Black tells the devil to shove it. 'You aint the devil - the fuckin' devil's got an English accent!'
'Lorchin' by The Nualas. (Beautiful harmonies and 'what the fuck' lyrics. Never ceases to amaze.)
The bit in Yellow Submarine where they argue over who gets to drive the car. (Hilarious dialogue and complex animation, all relegated to a tiny part of the screen)
The 'Zelda...waaaahhh....Zelda!' bit in Singin' In The Rain. (Unexpected)
'Singing A Song Is Easy' from Innes Book Of Records. (Goose bumps every time)
Etc. Didn't care much for Betty Blue. Though I did note with interest at the time of its release that Barry Norman's 'Film whateveryearitwas' show used the clip of her muff on the balcony (stupid place to put a subtitle) but the 6pm repeat substituted an alternate muffless clip. If we ever do a Barry Norman site it'll be in the Edit News section. And why not.
PS Didn't like that 'Jamon Jamon' either.
PPS And 'Bilitis' is just depressing, frankly. 'Pauline A La Plage' is okay though, in a watery kind of way.

MP3 of "Blam Canada". Again and again and again.
The songs are usually the best thing about South Park (and I like the rest of it, I hasten to add). But I can still hear the laughter that greeted the first play of Uncle Fucka at the Streatham Odeon last August Bank Holiday.
Hysterical. (Blame Canada's wondrous as well.)
> famous on the circuit for drinking his own urine. and the urine of any young girl drunk enough to adopt a squatting position I gather.
Been there, done that!
Sorry, that should have gone in the Ross Noble thread.

I was dreading the film, as I'd seen the way the series had gone, but having seen it at the pictures (unbelievable audience reaction there too!) I knew it was something I'd have to buy. After getting my DVD copy home I was worried in case it didn't seem quite as good as I'd remembered (quite ften the case, as our local cinema has a ridiculously cheap bar!) bt it has become one of my most played DVDs. Uncle Fucka, Blame Canada, and 'Super When You're Gay' are highlights, but 'Eyes of a Child' over the end credits is extremely funny! #I can even get my friend Steve to detail your car for 25 bucks....see life is kinda gay, but it doesn't seem that way in the eyes of a child#
