how pessimistic is this Melanie? Of course everyone is great if they land a show on the fringe.

I saw the Cambridge Footlights in 1993, doing an embarrasingly shit version of a show that had been quite good back in Cambridge. One of the performers now produces 'Da Ali G Show'.

But it'll all be different these days...

And I heard the Oxford Revue was really bad in the late 80s, but I dunno what happened to all of them.

What's happened to the Oxford Revue? Mmm... still shit, although the last couple of years lots of effort went into it. It's not taking a show to Edinburgh this year.

Cambridge Footlights are still shit, and are made up of exactly the same kind of self-serving, empty yonug swine you would associate with that organisation.

Yes, I used to do stuff with the Oxford Revue.

Oh, cheer up Stewart. You've still got a lot going for you.

I read a really interesting fringe preview article about the Boosh. Apparently they are going to win the Perrier Award this year. And they cracked a joke about the fact their girlfriend's accuse the duo of being married and also 'don't like the sex they have too much either'.

Don't you just love the spontaneity of award winners?

Also they were hailed as youthful icons who brought something really exciting and pop-starry to comedy.

They are undoubtably intriguing to watch even though during 'Arctic Boosh' I did almost drift off into slumber. I think it was the mood-lighting they used that induced drowsiness.
