An Open Letter To Rob Sedgebeer Posted Wed Jul 26 13:19:29 BST 2000 by Jon

Can you write some clever Javascript so that people can't start strands with inappropriate possessive apostrophes in them, eg "Sitcom's on the BBC"?

I find it quite distresssing.

Well, truly PJ, one apostrophe places you up there with the great ironists: Jane Austen, Oscar Wilde, Marshall Mathers.

I bow to you.

Do you honestly think Marshall Mathers can iron? He's probably never been near a pile of creased clothes...

I am disturbed. The amount of mysoginism in this forum is growing and popping up and the most unexpected places.

Next thing we know Rob S will be concealing a transcript of the lyrics to 'Mumbo Number 5' on a html.

Uh, I believe Jon is referring to the habit of some sections of the hip-hop fraternity (e.g. the aforementioned Marshall Mathers, who often works under the alias of "Eminem") to refer to their ladyfriends as "bitches". Either that or Jon is himself a bad-ass home-boy... but somehow I suspect the former. (No aspersions, Jon. If you are indeed a phat motherfucker I shall be first in the queue to give you some 'spect.)

I imagine Jon enjoys ''aving it large on a hip-hop tip', and other phrases taught to me by Tim Westwood. Westwood - now there a bitch for you - no sorry, i've confused bitch with clueless twat. Sorry.
