Hmmm... I'd like to hear less about the programme no-one watches (apart from all it's fans in here) The 11 O'Clock Show. Don't think I'll get my own way either.
Why the hell not? Half the reason this site exists is to consider the effect of producer politics on a show. Would you rather have specious, unsubstantiated remarks about nothing?
My point is that just because you don't like a subject, don't go on a little crusade to get it banned. And you are wrong, only a quarter of the reason this forum exists is to discuss what you mention. Because only half of this forum is about comedy. This forum is a forum about TV. Not just comedy. The fact that the comedy people are here at all is a source of a lot of annoyance for the people who were here before all you lot and did not discuss unwatched comedy programmes.
So, let's go through this one more time. There are two separate groups on this forum. One who discuss television in general (who were here first) and one who discusses television only. One of these two groups seems hell-bent on mocking the other out of existence. Well we're not going to go away just because you don't like it. A lot of what the comedy clique say bores the hell out of me. But I don't make fatuous little threads berating them. But I'm damned if I'm just going to sit here and see the original group on this forum talked down to like this.
If you don't like our posts, then why don't _you_ just go piss off. Eh?
Is this on my part? It makes no difference to me who a forum contributor is or how long they've been around.
And TV politics counts when talking about TV,
by definition. It informs everything you see.
Oh. Sorry. It seems we were on cross purposes here. I thought you were backing Jon up.
Thing is, he was going on about the politics of who owns what on ITV which a section of this forum is interested in at the mo. Frankly I'm confused about who's arguing with who now....
I'm interested in the debate of both groups. If I take the piss now and then, it's because I'm a piss taker.
Brothers, sisters, come together. Let's all join in harmony in berating the corpulent corporate coprophiles at Carlton and Granada AND the hapless Iain Lee. Get it all out of our systems in one go.
There now. Doesn't that feel better?
Yeah! Nice one Alan.
Peace.
I don't quite follow some of the above postings. I generally don't look at threads that don't interest me. It's just that we've lately had a lot of threads above the Carlton merger (or whatever the hell it was) which merely concern ITV politics, not programme-making at all, never mind comedy programming, and I wish the various ITV employees would try to remember what SOTCAA is about, not use it as an underground forum for themselves.
I could start up loads of threads about the different bands or authors I like, but I don't, because virtually all of them have nothing to do with comedy or TV. So I only did it with Denim, The Fall, B.S.Johnson, and Harlan Ellison, because they had genuine connections.
Anyhow, The Corpses have confirmed that they doctored the Paul Garner still - which was all I was bothered about...
>Cross purposes.
Forget it, Jase!
(group hug)

Well, I appreciated them. Shame they're the only ones I've followed.
Yeah, but Jon, you seem to be having difficulty following simple English. This is a TV forum, not just a comedy forum. The people who are following the ITV politics have just as much right to be here as you do. That's a fact, and if you don't recognise that, then you're a fool. Period.
"This is a TV forum, not just a comedy forum."
I would have said it was a comedy forum, not just a TV forum - we have people writing in about novels, films, stand-up...
HOWEVER, fair enough if you want to write about ITV ownership issues, I'll just not read any of it.

SOTCAA TV Forum.
Think that sums it up. It is not just a comedy forum.
Anyway, there is so much going on about ITV at the minute because there is just so much going on at the minute in the world of ITV.
If something is going on, people will talk about it.
This is not just a comedy forum.
In the same way, this is not just a TV forum.
for those of you who wernt here before this sotcaa thing started, there used to be 3 parallel forums:
TV logos and other such stuff
Sci-fi
Arcade emulators
I can prove it too: the arcade one is still there:
http://mudhole.spodnet.uk.com/~frogger/arc/
the tv and sci fi url's were:
http://mudhole.spodnet.uk.com/~frogger/tv
http://mudhole.spodnet.uk.com/~frogger/sci-fi
but both now get redirected to here, which is:
http://mudhole.spodnet.uk.com/~frogger/newtv
is this the same url evryone uses? has it a fancy custom one?
Robs not made it particularly easy to jump from any of these projects to any other, it took me a while to find out where this corpses site everyone was suddenly talking about was :)
so in summary: the sci-fi and tv merged, and then the corpse thing moved in too.
look at http://www.notbbc.co.uk/
Ive just realised ive spent ages saying what you all knew from Bods previous post.
bugger.

Never mind. I'll let you off.
Oh yeah. Just one other thing. Look at the "Information" screen (fourth little blue icon in top-left frame). Lo and behold -- it's a TV forum. Where's the Corpses or comedy or anything else now, eh? ;)

Stop making trouble :)
