Went I stayed in Gloustershire (spelling?) for a few days, I found that there was NO HTV West to be found, and this was on an outside aerial! I couldnt understand it!
I must have been in a blackspot. I had to put up with Central (this was before it became Carlton central, with those rather dull idents!)
Also, anyone know if HTV West has the same look news as HTV Wales?
Living in East Cheshire, I get HTV better than Granada but still watch it.
One region that always confuses me is Meridian, they seem to cover some places that to me would appear to be more Westcountry or HTV West territory than that of Meridian, they have 2 seperate news programmes to compensate for this dont they?

If it was pointing to Ridge Hill, then you would pick up the Central signal. HTV West is broadcast to the south of Gloucestershire
from Mendip.

No, completely different.

Er...they have 3 news services: Southampton, New Hythe and Newbury.>

The Newbury service also has to compete with Carlton's in some areas where the two overlap. The "South Central" area is very vague in any case, so it will always be problematical establishing which company covers which area etc.

Technically the Isle of Mann falls under GRANADA and not Border's transmission area- sorry!

Not on any map I've seen! The Isle of MAN is Border, though part of the eastern side overlaps with Granada. Though what people actually watch is up to them.

As someone who lived for 27 on the Isle of Man, I can tell you that the IoM is definitely in Border land. Its six relays transmit Border. Lookaround features the island heavily.
In the east of the island, especially on hills, Granada can also be received. But so can HTV Wales.
And in the south and west of the island, you can get Ulster too.
