Central region Posted Sat Jul 22 08:50:23 BST 2000 by carltoniscrap

Well...

You have:

CENTRAL NEWS WEST covering Birmingham and the Black Country, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire and Coventry and Warwickshire.

CENTRAL NEWS EAST covering Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Coventry and Peterborough.

CENTRAL NEWS SOUTH covering Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Swindon and North Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire

They are the transmission areas.

CENTRAL NEWS WEST is mostly about Birmingham
CENTRAL NEWS EAST is mostly about the entire Cental East region
CENTRAL SOUTH is mostly about Oxford and Swindon.

Why?!

The supreme service to Swindon is HTV West but as it is an overlap area a lot of people do prefer Central for some bizzarre reason....

It's an overlap area. Peterborough is always mentioned on Central News East. Anglia do have a news room there but the North Cambridgeshire region is also covered by Carlton Central.

No wonder everyone is moaning about coverage by Central News. They are so busy covering overlaps thye forget about places in the heart of the sub-regions.
