GRANADA TONGIHT Posted Sat Jul 15 11:14:17 BST 2000 by cheshirecat

Anyone remember the title sequence used inbetween the 1997 and the current one?
It had a sort of pinky beige look to it and the ident was like

GRANADA
TONGIGHT

In a pink oval ,,
Anyone, was it only used during the move of newsrooms .. i.e. liverpool to manchester.?
Thanks

I remember it. Yes indeed it was a pinkish oval, with images of famous north-west landmarks in the background. The newsreader sat in front of a similar background, featuring Blackppol Tower and that railway bridge near Widnes.

On the night I saw it, during a trip to Cheshire, there hadn't been much news that day in the region so they had sent someone off to Manchester airport to buy some travel goods so she could come into the studio to talk about them. It was pathetic.

I've got the theme tune to this one somewhere on my computer at home. Sounds like it should have been on a game show.

Sadly I no longer have a video of the actual title sequence. Just an aging WAV.
