I would have to agree. The logo itself was really dynamic but the tune that accompanied it was the best music to go with an ident full stop.
But TSW logo two's music was just dire: derrrrrrrderrrrdeeeerdeeeerdeeerdeeerdeeeer
OH PLEASE!
On another note the music to Today south west at one point I was addicted to! This piece was composed by Ed Welch who also composed "TSW TODAY" the succesor to Today south west.
So now you know.
Ed Welch did some stuff outside TSW as well. Blockbusters with Bob Holness for starters ...

I agree, the second incarnation of the TSW theme (circa 1986) was nowhere near as good as the first. It was a bit brass band - dare I say too 'northern sounding' for the southwest station!
Dan F you don't work at Langage by any chance do you?!?!?!?!? ;)
Ahh- that logo was much beloved by me, and I don't think that Westcountry's logo ever matched up to it. But it was better than the Carlton logo we now get....grrr.
Bring back Gus Honeybun!

Well cornwall has a whole bunch of silver bands so it ain't out of keeping with the area...Have to say the orginal blue blobs to green hills was a masterpiece of early '80's graphics on a budget ...but you can keep Gus Honeybun!
