BBC in the Midlands Posted Fri Jun 30 15:41:55 BST 2000 by Anonymous

Which do you think's better? BBC West (Midlands) or BBC Central to East (Nottingham version)? Could you also say where you are and what your local ITV is and BBC News region.

Definitly the best news show is Midlands Today from Birmingham. Carlton's Central News has really gone down the drain since the takeover. Out of curiosity, does anyone listen to BBC Local Radio in the Midlands, especially 'The Late Show' from 9 till 1 Monday to Friday evenings. I think it's really excellent. Better than the telly some nights !!

Central News East's ratings have gone up since Carlton..., Central West's have gone down- as it spends to much of it's time talking about Birmingham, Central South's have gone up as well.
CENTRAL EAST is the best for varied news, CENTRAL WEST is good for the people that watch from Birmingham, and CENTRAL SOUTH is to be renamed- Oxford and Swindon Today-well it should be!
On the other side...
BIRMINGHAM'S EDITION OF MIDLANDS TODAY IS NOT AS GOOD AS IT COULD BE. NOTTINGHAM'S MIDLANDS TODAY IS MUCH BETTER! It's got more varied cities: Lincoln, Leicester, Derby, Coventry, Nottingham.
