R&M edits

Re the first series of 'Smell..' edits, two things that might help shed some light: the 'Smell...' book that came out for Christmas after the first series contained some of the sketches. I don't have it but remember reading the Brian May Guy Fawking of the leg sequence and included Otis and Marvin's description of the types of Guy Fawking and Bob's subsequent test. On the videos, this, like a lot of the other cut material doesn't work on screen - the jet of liquid from the Guy Fawking is practically invisible.
One of the key things about this edit and most of the others that form the 'extra material' on the videos is that they add nothing to the sketch in progress: there's another where Bob is wearing the horse bumbag after the tea tasting where they just go off into what seems to be freeform scatting for a bit which is completely pointless. I'd suggest that the show was always intended for 30 minutes and any additional material was shot to make space. After watching my own vids for so long and then buying the official ones I can't see that any of the additional material improved on the broadcast shows.

Reb Front got cut out of the first season videos, in 'The Food and The Drink'.
What I want to know is how chopped about 'Bang! Bang!' was on video. Was it PRS troubles only? Did anyone persuade themselves to buy them?

I know this isn't totally relevant but what is that fantastic piece of easy listening music R&M use in Bang Bang during the sketches where they keep banging the car doors - I must have it!
(I haven't seen any mugs)

If you mean the music that plays when people die and an egg falls out of their mouth, then it's "There's Something Going On" from the album of the same name by BabyBird. If it's the music running through the rest of the sketch, I think that's just a stock piece. Anyone know different?

Found out today: I think....
It's not available commercially - it's The Larry Page Orchestra with "Zabadak" originally recorded by Dave Dee, Dozy Beaky Mick & Tich.

Shooting Stars is also edited on UK Play. They cut out the beginning bits where they introduce the guests, and also a few sweary bits (like "Random light, pick out the shite!") It's still pretty good, though.

If you mean the bit where they rotate - they don't edit those out. Well, not in any eps I've seen.
