Who are "The Corpses"? Posted Fri Jun 16 14:42:21 BST 2000 by dr_hackenbush

Looking at this site and the Lee and Herring site, it seems clear to me that the mysterious anonymous group behind this either contains or is Rob Sedgebeer. (Whoever he is - a web designer?) Hence the access to L&H's wastebins, and insider knowledge of On the Hour infighting.
Not that it matters much, really. Fantastic site, although occasional bizarre opinions.

i find it really spooky seeing posts from "the corpses" as if theres a group of mysterious ghostly people watching over us......

I thought the title referred to the corpses of old tv programmes some of which were amusing, but presumably old tv programs cant post messages!

The name "Some Of The Corpses Are Amusing" comes from the quote "Comedy Is Dead, But Some of The Corpses Are Amusing". I'm not sure where this comes from...

I know that, but they have decided to call themselves "The Corpses", derived from the phrase SOTCAA, suggesting that one or both of them think they are amusing.

I'm not entirely serious, but it's something to think about.

Ok, I know about the "Comedy is Dead But ..."
derivation. It could also be a clever pun on "corpsing" (ie a performer laughing while trying to do a sketch).
But I was really trying to subvert the forum by starting a discussion on who's behind the SOTCAA site. Apart from Rob Sedgebeer.
Any ideas?

One of them used to be in The Waterboys.

What? That bloke who writes Robbie Williams' stuff? Oh, hang, on, that makes sense, actually. Yeah!

Dr H: Rob's a web designer - it says so all over the SOTCAA and L&H sites - and he works at Dennis Publishing. He claims not to be, however, responsible for the content of the SOTCAA site. I, for one, believe him.

Cheerio

Steve

But he is responsible for about 40% of the content of this forum...
