Yes, he's appearing in a solo show at The Stand Comedy Club in this years Edinburgh Fringe.
"Loose Ends" regular. Enough said.
No hang on, that's Arthur Smith. Arnold Brown... had a R4 series around '89, that was OK, I think. Yeah, I suppose he's alright.
Might well have appeared on "Loose Ends", there is very little of that show I've had the patience to listen to. John Peel takes the piss out of it as well, if you listen to his thing that's on before, forgotten the name.
"Home Truths With John Peel", that's it, isn't it?

That's it, although Loose Ends has moved to 6.15 on Saturdays now. No idea what's replaced it.
I had a beer or three with Arnold Brown (funny, Jewish) and the guy who runs the Hackney Empire (fat, a bit tedious) about three years ago at the Edinburgh fringe after watching a pregnant Hattie Hayridge do her one-woman show.
And why not?
Saw Arnold Brown in about '91 in Sherman Theatre Cardiff. Best line: 'All across Europe the lights are going out. That's because it's late... and people are going to bed.'
I don't know where he is now - but I wish he'd come back.
'Have you anything by Betty Boo?'

Oddly enough it's Arthur Smith and Excess Baggage. He's better as a presenter than a comic.

The year before, he opened for Frank Sinatra at Ibrox Park in Glasgow. No, really.
I do like him but I saw him at a charity gig a few years ago. He did the same material from twenty years ago and there was a lot of silence and coughing and people shifting in their seats. I was the only one laughing, partly at the jokes, which I love despite the familiarity, but also at the fact that no one else was laughing, which was surreal.
