>Here are two shows I recall from BBC TV in the eighties that I never, ever see or hear any mention of :-
>
>Johnny Jarvis - Can't remember what it was about, apart from being based upon a book. It was broadcast on BBC1 after the watershed circa 1983.
>Don't remember this - there was a Welsh language sitcom called Joni Jones on S4C which later turned up in an English language version on (maybe) BBC. But I suspect you're referring to something else, given that the first names are spelt differently, and the surnames ARE different.
>Goodbye Mr Kent - BBC Sitcom - starred Hannah Gordon (and maybe Richard Briers ??)
yes indeed
and was broadcast circa 1981.
early 82 - on Thursday nights straight after Kenny Everett's first BBC1 series.
It only went on for one series, and unless the memory cheats, I seem to recall it was "ok"- so does anyone remember either or both of these shows ???
>
Hmmm...would have to see it again, and not even UK Gold have done the honours, have they? Mind you, Briers is always good value in sitcom, so...

>Yep, spot on - Thursday nights ! I remember now. Wonder why it has never been repeated anywhere ?
Johnny Jarvis - can't remember details about when it went out etc, but wasn't his sister played by an actress who had been on Coronation Street. Sister of Kevin Webster ??? (Sorry, when I started typing this I mistakenly thought I could remember more.) I enjoyed JJ anyway.
Yeah, I remember 'Goodbye Mr Kent', but not the other one. I liked it a lot, but no one else did.I was going to mention it in the 'Shows that were not classics...' strand, but I really don't remember it well enough to tell if it was any good.
But the girl who played Hannah Gordon's teenage daughter portrayed a lot of teenagers in TV stuff at the time. Whatever happened to her?

Fairly sure that she was one of Melvyn Hayes' daughters - can't remember a first name, though.
Melvyn Hayes has daughters? Ah, so he isn't then....
