The ommission of Iain Lee worries me...

Outrageous comic Ricky Gervais is the latest 11 O'Clock Show star to be given his own programme.

Gervais will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Ali G, with his new comedy chat show for Channel 4.

And producers are looking for his biggest fans to be in the audience for the taping of the first instalment.

Free tickets for the recording on Thursday, June 8 in Wandsworth, south London, are available from Standing Room Only on 020 8870 0111.

Lively 11 O'Clock Show presenter Daisy Donovan has also been given a new show.

In two half-hour documentaries called Daisy Does Bachelors, she will interview men in her irreverent style

Sounds like quality viewing to me.

No doubt TalkBack has something in mind. Like cutting up a starfish, the only trouble with the end of 11ocs is that now we've got four or five appalling spin-off solo shows to slag off in months to come.

"Outrageous", yes. Not in the way he imagines, though.

They'd have to be - otherwise the audience would start throwing decade-old fruit.

Shouldn't that read "irredeemable style"?

All of these people should be on the scrapheap from now. Including the writers - I've noticed a lot of them turn up on the credits of TTIAO and Buzzcocks.

Whatever happened to Mackenzie Crook?

I should have started this as a strand in itself... anyway, top marks to him for trying to develop a character (dodgy fraud war reporter) rather than just reading out a load of Nedsherrinisms from an autocue. He was crap, but hey, the guy tried.

Was that his real name, BTW? What a head start for a comedy career...

But cutting up a starfish is an act of cruelty...

Sorry about that - and all for the sake of trying to think of an appropriate comparison! Can I change that to Boyzone instead (except that's a bit of an easy target)?
