One of the good points about tonights show was Iain Lee sitting their for half an hour and saying nothing.
He was outclassed by the comedy giant that is Nick Hancock.
I THINK LAST NIGHTS THEY THINK ITS ALL OVER (THUR 26 MAY 2000) WAS THE FIRST TIME IAIN LEE DIDN'T SAY WANK OR SOMETHING ABOUT CHILD PORNOGRAPHY. SHOWS BBC HAVE SOME CONSIDERATION WHEN IT COMES TO THINGS LIKE THAT
Well, talking about things like that would lower the whole tone of the show, wouldn't it?
It has such class....
Y'know it's funny lads, John! and myself were discussing this very thing last night. I think I could almost like Iain Lee an awful lot if he never spoke again! And Jonathan Ross seems to shine on this show, I think it's time for me to start watching TTIAO again!
Yeah, while not being comedy genius, it's normally a funny enough half hour. Worth watching, certainly. Although sometimes (and I find this happens all the time with Have I Got News For You) it takes a lot of effort to actually decide to watch it instead of do something else, even though in the end it's worth it.
Oh, and how could the person who wrote the subject line get such a national institution of a, er, sentance wrong??? =] It's it's, it's not it is!
I wondered how long it would take someone to spot that. Right, can't hang about. I'm off to watch 'Have I Got Some News For You'.
CSS (DHTML) is it worth it? Will Netscape support it? Just asking.
>CSS (DHTML) is it worth it? Will Netscape support it? Just asking.
Well personally I found it just too much bother for what I was doing and normal tables suited it better.
You can do a few interesting things with it though, so it just depends what effects you want, and if you're using lots of pages it does mean you can tinker about with them all at once.
As for Netscape, I'm not sure, but I think it supports it (the latest versions anyway)
css are good if you don't want the bother of typing <font> tags... they also make it easy to keep your pages looking the same. if you've already got summat written, don't go out of your way to change it to css-friendly format, it'll only make you loathe thie things. :)
my site uses css type things....
ta muchly to subbes for sorting that out for me :O)

and it works on netscape...
*looks suspiciously at him*
I told you never to mention our business deals in here.
*scurries into the night*

I have to agree with you the Suiii I think Jonathon Ross was a good replacement for Lee Hurst in fact my dad thinks Jonathon Ross is more funnier & wittier than Lee Hurst but it wouldn't hurt the BBc if they repeated these again instead of FUCKING Morcambe & Wise especially from ATV... All 3 RIP

No, Morcambe and Wise are good, pity they're in the regional opt-out slot.
And it's a pity my region never opts out!
And yeah, it's worth tuning in to see Wossys suits! Another surprisingly good panellist is Jo Brand, who seems to have a surprisingly good knowledge of all things sporting.

i have to agree its funny she knows all that and on her show all she can say is "i'm fat" & "i love cakes"

I remember her saying that she felt uncomfortable doing that sort of material sometimes, but that was what the punters wanted. (Or people in telly, perhaps more accurately.)
I agree though - when she's on other shows, she can be very funny, and a lot cleverer than she makes out in her standard stand-up routines.
Yeah, if I wanted to hear someone say "I'm fat and I love cakes" I could sit in front of a mirror! I'd quite like Iain Lee to be on again, so that I could tape it for posterity. I'm still awed by how funny he is when he doesn't speak at all!
