Making Of Hitch Hikers Posted Wed May 10 21:06:36 BST 2000 by Bent Halo

Don't run away. I don't have that many copies of TV Zone. Just an addendum to the main article.

There are two different issues of 'The Making Of' video. The first edition was available for a week, then replaced by a reedit with minor changes.

The changes? There are two animation sequences from Peter Jones, but his voice-over was missing leaving only the marvellous proto-Ambient music from Radiophonic Workshop. Jones' monologue is re-instated on the second version.

Source? DWB, when it was a half-decent bitching session. That Dreamwatch dross is shocking now.

Anyone know whatever happened to Time Screen?

My friend in California says there's a third 'Making Of' video with an appearance by Dirk Gently but no out-takes. Neither of us have seen it.

Psych, psych, psych, psych, psych...

That third 'Making Of' you mention may be the South Bank Show on Douglas Adams from 1991? I've got a tape of it and it does feature Dirk Gently, plus the Electric Monk and loads of new Dent/Prefect sketches. Even Marvin turns up in a trenchcoat.
