>Could the authors (or more likely Rob) flag the new stuff a bit better, please? It's like playing Spot The Difference, trying to find it.
I assume you mean in the actual articles and not the menus... it's very difficult to highlight the new texts without making them stick out in an ugly way. Usually, if its a major update, the new bits are very obvious anyway (eg Blue Jam in Editnews)
Howsabout a "What's new" page? Links to the updated pages with a description of what was added.
rOD.
Yeah, there's so much information on the site that it's a bit tricky to get to the new stuff on an already big page without having to skim through stuff you've already read (in particular the added notes rather than new points)
Appreciate the blue backgrounds though. And fantastic new stuff in the update, by the way, particularly as far as Chris Morris goes.
Oh, by the way, in the Jam section there's a pic from what i guess is the preview tape of the little girl (at the bottom of the page) It appears that you can see a lot more than you could in the tx'd version, although it isn't mentioned in the edit news itself. Do the authors not realise this or was the pic just knowingly left there to tease us?
I'll try and sort out a what's new page - but it's tricky given the large amount of work that's already involved. I'm still refining the look of the site though, so who knows...
My one peeve is that it's impossible to open the forumframe (good lord, i'm showing my channel 4 roots there, using THAT word) page in a new window - i'm used to the cs, and having this minescule space to fit the forum in is a little cramped.
Don't make me do what I had to do to the new channel 4 frame settings (i.e. write a new frameset to keep on HD so i could access the forum without the adserver frame being un-resizeable)... please... just tell me the url for the forumframe page.
Do that, and I'll put the eyeshadow down.
(please?)

Rob, you're a darling.
Thanks for not treating me like a complete newbie, m'dear.
[I woulda worked it out, bar the ruddy Flash being there (do you have a non-flash version, incidentally? Tried to see if you did and if i could find it that way, but none was forthcoming. just wondering as some unis wouldnt allow the plugin...)]
No sorry, the use of Flash isn't just to make the site look pretty, it's also there to protect the site from offline browsers etc etc...
*lol* You been viewing it through the SOTCAA pages? Nasty!
eh? er ... no, the Flash is used to protect the SOTCAA page, not the forum!
How do you mean, offline browsers?
*looks puzzled*
Is there something wrong with that? i used to have to browse the cs that way, when my phone bills were horrendous and i couldnt log on at weekends because others were using the puter.
I have zero knowledge of such things but frogger/newtv looks exactly the same as frogger/tv
what's the difference?
There is no difference between newtv and tv
The offline browsers I was referring to was those that download a whole website in one fell swoop, which given corpses size, is not something we're keen on ;)
Ouch.
But it's not like you have advertising banners, that would be one case when you'd want them to see the site online...?
Actually, what's your opinion on that? I do hope you won't fall to the prey of banners (or... ugh... an adserver, like channel 4. ruddy thing.)
Nope, but someone downloading the whole site would take up a lot of bandwidth ...
ummm....
Bad girl!! Ban her henceforth Robert!!
Whaaa?
Just cause I know the truth about you and Rusty Lee...!
<shuts up>
*grins*
i saw the photos.
And very good you looked, too.
Shut it.
<gets out Dictaphone>
