James you should be able to get TT in Hull, it's only just outside TT's official area (it goes down as far as Selby). I can get YTV clear (and in digital) 7 miles north of Darlington, Co Durham. I used to be able to get a fuzzy Anglia quite reliably and clear on high-pressure nights until On-Digital started. I could also get Central better than Anglia, and Granada on occasion.

In the summer of '95 I could get BBC 1 North (North East & Cumbria version) better than BBC 1 Northern Ireland for a short period.

I can get a crystal clear Granada picture no matter what the weather. Then again, I live in Manchester.

Living in Manchester means nothing. Try living in Tameside, _east_ Greater Manchester, where the S4C signal is usually better than C4s...

Yes, let's hear it - three cheers for Anglia ... (looks at bottom of screen) ... a Granada Media company. Hip hip ...

So does this mean then that the expensive new idents and graphics for these stations will be scrapped? Sadly one side effect of all this is that the [itv] hearts I fear will be around for a while yet...

Thats a good point, you mean the ones starting on 1st Sept, it would appear likely that they would be scrapped, but GRanada havent bought them YET!
The shareholders (and i am one of em!) have to approve the deal, (i will be doing so!)

A fuzzy Anglia signal can be received in parts of NE London and SW Essex although not at my place...The area is strictly not part of the Anglia territory. I get Meridian nice and clear though. Better than Carlton shite.

Another point, c@t, would be that the United channels are far further down the road than Granada at branding all stations' national productions as part of United. Since I doubt that Granada would just make them go back to using ordinary "Anglia Production" slides etc, this would accelerate Granada's plans to put a united front on all stations. I just hope we don't get another rushed job like when Granada bought Tyne Tees and hurriedly reversed C3NE, leaving it looking a mess.

or

www.carlton.co.uk/anglia

Phew! A close one - I think you'll agree.

All gets bounced to the same place so who cares? Carlton is primarily a UK based company anyway, so should be using co.uk...

I'm embarrased and ashamed that Carlton is a UK company so they shouldn't put co.uk!
They could put .de!
