But does anything happen in Coventry?
A LOT MORE THINGS MUST HAPPEN THAN IN LEICESTER, DERBY AND NORTHAMPTON!
Why did carlton move Cov to central east it doesn't make much sense. And how cos, birmingham and cov use the same transmitter don't they?
OK- this is the story...
Because Carlton were getting so many reports of people in Coventry seeing Central News East they decided something must be done. East Birmingham and Coventry did use the same transmitter. There are several smaller transmitters in Coventry which pick up the Central East service. It is now an overlap between West and East. The only thing is they don't mention us very often! We were also moved because we are so close to Leicester and Northampton- alot closer than Shrewsbury and the entire Birmingham region, anyway!
Do you remember when they tried to make central news west really modern, it was when they introduced the 'people' idea to the opening titles around 1997.
I think that the theme itself had a really feel good factor but was it right for the news?
it sounded more like the music to Hollyoks!

CENTRAL WEST HAVE NOW GOT A REALLY SLOW BORING TUNE! THE EAST REGION IS GOOD.

Well at least Central make an attempt at running a proper 'local' service. Tyne Tees attempts have always resulted in the North and South regions getting each others news anyway, all that was different was the presenters and the studios. They even read the stories out in exactly the same order.
>ALTHOUGH CARLTON PUT COVENTRY IN THE CENTRAL NEWS EAST REGION A MONTH AGO WE STILL HARDLY SEE ANY LOCAL NEWS!
>How bizarre - the Coventry postal address is West Midlands but it gets the news from the East Midlands!
KEEP THE CENTRAL NEWS MESSAGES COMING IN. SEE ALSO MIDLANDS TODAY IN THE MENU BAR.

Central use the same reports on Central East as they do on West because Leicester, Coventry and Derby are covered by both- why not have just one sub-region?!
Do the subregions get different theme tunes and set-styles then - I just though they were all the same
>Do the subregions get different theme tunes and set-styles then - I just though they were all the same
No they are all different- some work better than others, though. Eg. CENTRAL EAST'S STYLE OF PRESENTATION IS MORE POPULAR THAN CENTRAL WEST'S AND IS MUCHBETTER, GENERALLY.
There are lots more things to say on the subject- say them!
