1. The pre-release edit of this 1962 LP spoof of Bridge On The River Kwai featuring Peter Cook, Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers and Jonathan Miller (Parlophone PMC 1190) did not use the ‘Wye’ pun: the real title of the film was used throughout. When the makers of the film threatened legal action, producer George Martin painstakingly set about removing all the offending ‘k’ sounds. Although the edits are very obvious if you listen for them, you have to admire Martin’s technical skills (not to mention his luck).
