Hello Everyone

Further to yesterday's confirmation of the Great TV Romance Feature for Valentine's issue, this is to announce that Alison, who was going to do the whole feature, can only be bothered to do the 500-word commentary now, because she needs to take a long weekend in order to think of something amusing to say about Gail Platt's hair. So *please* think of some TV couples - all straight and correct, please! And nothing too obscure, of course! Just glance at terrestrial and UK Gold listings if you need anything to jog the memory. And pass all your ideas to Chris Middleton, who's got the thankless task of putting it all together.

Regards

Nick

Whasssssup!

Can anyone think of an amusing adjective for Gail Platt's hair? I would use "grubby" but I've already used it twice today. And can someone get me a coffee?

Boomyaka!

Does anyone remember the adaptation of Lady Chatterley from BBC1 in about '93, with Sean Bean and a woman? I know it's from a while back, but it was set in a garden, so you could tie it in with Ground Force or something if you like. I'm sure you can think of something much wittier than that though, Chris!

When did this happen? It was a while ago, wasn't it?

Was it 1980? Or perhaps 84?

Let's say '82, as it's midway between your two very accurate guesses. Excellent research, as always, gang!

Have we still got that photo of him and her together? You know the one. And does anyone know who wrote P&P?

Kay Mellor - and if it wasn't, it darn well should have been! Aren't men rubbish - apart from the gay ones, at least. Speaking of which, can anyone save me some work (!) by telling me who was going out with whom in Queer As Folk? I had to avert my eyes during the bed scenes though, as you can well imagine!

Imrankahn!

I'll leave out the author for the moment. Never mind - it's not like that lot out there care about writers...! :0)

Hello Nicholas, and Chris

What about the storyline from Emergency Ward 10, where John Alderton and Jill Browne's characters got together, and then got married? It was in about 1965, I believe, but I've got loads of TVTimes memorabilia from the time back at home. I haven't noticed anything else get suggested from the 60s yet. What do you think? I could find out plenty of information if you're interested.
Oh yes, by the way - the MIke & Deirdre fling was actually in February 1983, not 82.

Hello Nicholas

Any news on the above? I've been trying to ask my colleagues if they have any memories about similar programmes, but they're usually too tired from laughing at some private joke or other.

Look forward to hearing from you.
